It's Raingutter Regatta Time! June 25
June 17, 2007
The rules for the Raingutter Regatta are fairly simple. Please follow the assembly directions on the package. The race uses two lanes of water filled "rain gutters". The boys are to blow air on the boats in order to advance them through the water. Hands are only to be used to upright an over-turned ship, and are not to be used to advance the boat. In addition, boys should not use their faces, lips, hats, nose or other bodily parts to move the boat-just the air in their lungs! Straws may be used, but cannot touch the boat or sail. Regatta boats will be judged for awards in the following categories:
- Fastest in Den
- Best Paint Job
- Best Theme
- Most Original Design
Scouts who cannot attend the Regatta but wish to enter their boats for the Paint, Theme and Original Design competition may send them with another Cub Scout or Den Leader who will be attending.
Scouts should wear their class A uniforms for this event.
